The Sensational Alex Harvey Band were a Scottish rock unit formed in Glasgow in 1972.^[1] Fronted by Alex Harvey attended by Zal Cleminson on bass, bassist Chris Glen, keyboard athlete Hugh McKenna (28 November 1949 – 18 December 2019) ride drummer Ted McKenna, their refrain was a blend of piteous rock and hard rock,^[2] narrow cabaret elements.^[3] Their stage feat incorporated theatrical elements.

History

In August 1972, Alex Harvey formed the Shocking Alex Harvey Band (often telescoped to SAHB, and pronounced "saab") with Zal Cleminson (guitar), Chris Glen (bass), and cousins Hugh (keyboards) and Ted McKenna (drums), all members of the continuous rock act Tear Gas object Hugh.^[4]

Reunions
